Painting and exploring the highlands to the coast

An amazing day starting with painting in the rocks that border the Akamis Peninsula then to the jewel like Mediterranean Sea, finding Lapis along the path and finally scouting the local harbor and spotting a local find-- fisherman regularly being up artifacts and have them drying in the sun! So much and it is only day 3!

Can anyone guess the function of the palm frond pole?

We went to the north side of Cyprus today. The coast is VERY hot and humid and we weren't very far from the Turkish border- which prompted lots of jokes. One of the oddest thing things I have seen is this pole with a single dried palm frond stuck in the top. Really was quite curious! At some point it deserves a painting! Open to ideas... it didn't provide any shade, wasn't really decorative... ?

An Afternoon at Slipper Rock

Another beautiful day on the NW coast and I wandered along to Slipper Rock. This unusual stack resembles a slipper (or boot). The tid was very high so I had a distant view. With a pair of Bald Eagles watching, I did a couple a quick paintings. One celebrating Slipper Rock, and the other the silhouette of the hillside beyond the stack.

A glorious afternoon!

Treasures of the Sea

A magical afternoon wandering on the beach with the waves rolling in. Today was a venture to a beach that has sand dollars! There are not many beaches here where they are found. Lots of quick note-sketches for future paintings and a number of reference photos. So exciting!!

Remember to believe in the magic of life, even when it is hard to see.
